Current structural reforms set new business goals to the enterprises of this sector. Regardless of the variety of these goals, they can be divided into three groups:

  • Enhancement of investment appeal of the formed holdings (TGK, OGK, etc.) in order to raise funds for upgrade of the generating capacities;
  • Enhancement of reliability, efficiency and operation safety of the current capacities with considerable degree of wear;
  • Supply management in free market conditions.

Automation systems are one of the most effective tools for solving these tasks. Combination of tight implementation schedule and acceptable costs while using recognized technologies and products is general requirement.

Borlas Consulting Group has realized more than 10 large-scale complex projects for such enterprises of this sector as RAO UES of Russia, JSC UK HydroOGK, JSC Perm GRES, JSC Mosenergo, JSC MOEK, JSC Kuzbassenergo, JSC Chelyabenergosbyt, JSC Volgogradenergosbyt. In 2003 project at JSC Perm GRES was started. Goals of the project: transparency of financial operations, enhancing efficiency of resource management. Business processes were analyzed and described; such Oracle E-Business Suite modules as Finance Management, Finance Analyzer and Analytical System, Logistics Management and HR Management were deployed in order to automate budgeting and organize all types of accounting (business accounting, tax accounting, management accounting); business and tax accounting are automated; it is planned to deploy Main Fund Management module. HACMP cluster of two IBM eServer p650 servers was installed to provide reliable operation of the system. We realize a project similar in the goals and scale at JSC Chelyabenergosbyt. Together with experts of JSC UK HydroOGK we are doing intensive work on developing a strategy for deploying common corporate ERP system in this company.

Based on the project on creation of thermal energy supply ACS at JSC Mosenergo, we have developed a billing solution for management of water, thermal and electric power supply. This system is also being deployed in other companies, for example, at JSC Volgogradenergosbyt.

Within just 3 months in 2005 we implemented a project on creation of integrated management system model according to the results of activities for the Federal state agency of atomic energy.

Experience of successful implementation of projects in the power industry allowed Borlas to develop a set of solutions, optimized for achieving the main business goals of the enterprises in this sector:
