Food industry and trade

Why have we decided to combine our experience of work with trade companies and food producers in one section? Firstly, it is often difficult to separate trade and production companies. Secondly, there are similar trends in these sectors — both of them undergo heavy growth due to stable rise of internal customer demand, and the sales scope and scale of the companies` business grow by leaps and bounds. Not so long ago the companies of these economic sectors were content with using rather simple systems with very limited functionalities, such as 1С, Axapta and other, for automation of their resources management, but now full-featured ERP systems, such as Oracle E-Business Suite (Oracle Applications) and other Oracle business applications become more relevant.

Besides, in the complex projects based upon activities on creation of automated management systems we also offer management consulting services (HR consulting: optimization of personnel motivation schemes, etc., budgeting consulting), services on IT infrastructure upgrade and implementation of integrated technical security systems, including such sub-systems as access control, perimeter guard, video surveillance (unfortunately, the problem of thefts is still topical for trade and production companies). Effective personnel motivation is as important for resolution of this task as reliable security systems.

In the recent years Borlas has implemented a number of very interesting and cost-effective complex projects for trade companies and enterprises of the food industry. Our customers include LLC Sarmat, JSC Frito-Lay-Manufacturing (subdivision of PEPSICO), EKZ Lebedyansky, М-video company. At LLC Sarmat and JSC Frito-Lay-Manufacturing we implemented full-featured automated enterprise management systems based on software complex Oracle E-Business Suite, including such functionality as finance, logistics and production management, and for LLC Sarmat — additionally maintenance and repair management. By request of EKZ Lebedyansky we created a budget-and-financial planning system. We implemented works on development and deployment of a new system of financial incentives for М-video company.

As a result of implementation of these projects the companies-customers obtained actual economic benefits. So, at the estimate of the financial managers of LLC Sarmat, cost effectiveness (direct expenses minus costs) of the project during 21 months of commercial operation of the system (since January 2004 till November 2005) exceeded 1 million USD due to 10% reduction of reserve stock at the warehouse, 5% reduction of material costs, 5% reduction of the scope of unfinished production and 9% increase of capital turnover in payments and 8% turnover of reserves of commodities and materials.
