Borlas occupies a special and quite remarkable place at the Russian market of IT services. The company is not a typical Russian IT service provider, coming to IT service business after hardware trade via systems integration. As a matter of fact, Borlas has never been a systems integrator and in this way it resembles many western IT service providers more than its Russian competitors. Like many «lucky» companies of the western IT business, Borlas, speaking as roulette gamblers do, never made small stakes on the colour, but staked all on one number and that number won. The stake was made as long ago as in 1997-98, and the «lucky number» was consulting on the implementation of Oracle E-Business Suite. Seemingly, it was as simple as that – show up in the right place at the right time. But serious businessmen know that it is not as simple as that.

Opinion of analysis centre «REAL IT»

Major consulting companies Borlas, Accenture and a number of others dominate at the mature consulting market in the implementation of business applications. In 2004 Borlas achieved impressive results, having made $36.5 million on rendering consulting services on the implementation of business software applications (which is 1.5 times more than the result of their immediate competitor). Prospects of Borlas in 2005 are also very good. Borlas positions itself as a consulting company, developing monovendor practice in the field of business applications, based on the concentration of experience and expertise of Oracle software products. Borlas has the biggest team of consultants on the implementation of Oracle business applications in Russia.
